Past Lauren's Light Events

Family Matters, a Light-Hearted Conversation with Dave Barry, Michelle Kaufman, and Mitchell Kaplan

Lauren’s Light had an amazing fundraiser, “Family Matters - a Light-Hearted conversation with Dave Barry, Michelle Kaufman, and Mitchell Kaplan,” in Coconut Grove on February 18, 2012.

Our heart-felt thanks to our hard-working committee; our volunteers; our generous sponsors - Dr. Michael and Lynda Gordon, Town Kitchen and Bar, Bacardi USA, Milam’s Markets, The Blonde Tulip, Azamara Club Cruises, and European Pet Groomers; the many businesses and individuals who donated from their hearts for the silent auction; and our community who attended the festivities to make this our most successful fundraiser ever.

Happy Hour at The Titanic

On Thursday February 17th, Lauren’s Light and Titanic Restaurant & Brewery hosted a Happy Hour Event benefitting Lauren’s Light.  For their donation, everyone was treated to some tasty hors d’oeuvres, two drinks, and a good time with good company.  A raffle included four tickets to a 2011 football game donated by the University of Miami.  Thank you to all who came out, and to Titanic, for sharing this evening with us.
Your continued support and generous spirit is truly appreciated by all of us at Lauren’s Light.

Concert for Cancer

On February 3, 2011, Lauren’s Light held its first Concert for Cancer, featuring award-winning folk singer Ellen Bukstel.

Lighten Up

We had a fun filled evening at the Miami Improv Club, on October 8, 2009, featuring Lisa Landry, Mo Mandel, William “Rock the House” Lewis, and emcee and Lauren’s Light supporter, Andrea Askowitz.  We filled the house with over 200 people and ended the evening with a fabulous Silent Auction.

Whole Foods 5% Day

On July 1, 2009, Lauren’s Light was the beneficiary of Whole Foods Coral Gables’ “Community Giving Day,” where 5% of their profits were donated to Lauren’s Light, and we had the opportunity to meet and introduce Lauren’s Light to hundreds of new people.

Shop For A Cause

Lauren’s Light joined a group of vendors on April 28, 2009 at the Coco Plum Women’s Club for an afternoon of shopping.  There were numerous vendors selling food, clothing and accessories all day, and a portion of their proceeds went to Lauren’s Light.

Moving Forward

Lauren’s Light held an exceptional evening at Coco Walk, catered by Jaguar Restaurant and Bacardi for over 200 people.  Our amazing volunteers turned an empty space into a beautiful art gallery, featuring new works by Miami artist, Malvina Feinswog.  County Commissioner Marc Sarnoff kicked off the evening with a donation, and our Silent Auction was top notch.
